Confession

The grace of God has dawned upon the world

through our Saviour Jesus Christ,

who sacrificed himself for us to purify a people as his own.

Saying sorry to God…

Lord Jesus, you came to gather the nations

into the peace of your kingdom:

Lord, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.

You come in word and sacrament

to strengthen us in holiness:

Christ, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.

 You will come in glory

with salvation for your people:

Lord, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.

God’s Forgiveness

Almighty God,

who forgives all who truly repent,

have mercy upon you,

pardon and deliver you from all your sins,

confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,

and keep you in life eternal;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

 The Collect

Almighty God,

Whose Son revealed in signs and miracles

the wonder of your saving presence:

renew your people with your heavenly grace, and in all our weakness

sustain us with your mighty power;

through Jesus Christ your only Son, our Lord. Amen

Gospel Reading from John 2 v 1-11

Jesus Changes Water Into Wine

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

“Woman,[a] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

 This is the Gospel of the Lord

Praise to you O Christ.

Let us declare our faith in God.

We believe in God the Father,

from whom every family

in heaven and on earth is named.

We believe in God the Son,

who lives in our hearts through faith,

and fills us with his love.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit,

who strengthens us

with power from on high.

We believe in one God;

Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayers: Led by John C.

Dear God,

Your first miracle was at a wedding feast where an ill-prepared host ran out of wine in the midst of the celebration.

You changed water into wine,  certainly prefiguring Your great Last Supper gift to us: Changing wine into Your Sacred Blood.

Dear Jesus of unchanging eternity,  through the sacrament of Holy Communion,  You change bread and wine  into Your Body and Your Blood. And You have invited us:  Take and eat! Take and drink!

Please, God, as bread and wine are changed,  change us and make us worthy  to receive Your Sacrament!

You come into my body, my heart and my soul. Please, Give us You. Give us Hope. Give us Faith. Give us Health.  Give us Charity. Give us Chastity. Give us Endurance. Give us Dedication. Give us Forgiveness. Give us Appreciation. Give us Concentration. Help us in meditation to understand  the eternal time-shattering power of Your inestimable gifts.

You give Yourself to us  What little have We to give back to You? Our envy? Our pride? Our greed? Our sloth? Our pettiness? Our selfishness? Our self-interest? Our neglectfulness? Our thoughlessness? Our distracted prayers? Our good intentions unfulfilled? and, yes our other sins  of commission and omission. Help us to find better gifts to give You!

Let us be able to give you our prayers, Our moderation in all things, Our friendship to those in need, Our acts of mortification and repentance, Our care for the less fortunate, the sick and the aged.

When my last day on earth approaches, let us not, I beg You, be unprepared as was the wedding host at Cana!

Strengthen us, renew us, purify us.  quench our spiritual thirst with the wine of Your Holy Blood poured out  for our redemption.

Holy father I ask of you to Be with all those upon this planet who are right now feeling lonely and isolated let them know your love, your grace are with them at all times.

For all healthcare professionals, Care givers, essential workers and for all your clergy lord we give thanks and praise for the dedication, love and compassion each and everyone of them have shown throughout this pandemic. Lord they remind me of yourself devoting your life to others so we shall all live as we do today. Holy father continue to be with them as they make each day as special for those they care for the sick, they dying, those recovering.

Oh, Dear Jesus, God Almighty,  please pour down Your Your forgiving grace upon our souls  Intoxicate us with love and will  to do Your bidding in this world  and to be worthy to be Yours  in the world to come.

All this I pray in your name

Amen

Christ is our peace.

If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation.

The old has passed away: behold, everything has become new.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.

And also with you.

Let us offer one another a sign of God’s peace.

Holy Communion

 The Lord is here

His Spirit is with us.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give thanks and praise.

It is right to praise you, Father, Lord of all creation;

in your love you made us for yourself.

When we turned away

you did not reject us,

 but came to meet us in your Son.

You embraced us as your children

and welcomed us to sit and eat with you.

In Christ you shared our life

that we might live in him and he in us.

He opened his arms of love upon the cross and made for all the perfect sacrifice for sin.

On the night he was betrayed,

 at supper with his friends

 he took bread, and gave you thanks;

 he broke it and gave it to them, saying:

 Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you;

 do this in remembrance of me.

Father, we do this in remembrance of him:

his body is the bread of life.

At the end of supper, taking the cup of wine,

he gave you thanks, and said:

Drink this, all of you;

this is my blood of the new covenant,

which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins;

do this in remembrance of me.

Father, we do this in remembrance of him:

his blood is shed for all.

As we proclaim his death and celebrate his rising in glory,

send your Holy Spirit that this bread and this wine

may be to us the body and blood of your dear Son.

As we eat and drink these holy gifts

make us one in Christ, our risen Lord.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord,

Holy is the Lord God Almighty

Who was and is and is to come

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord.

As our Saviour taught us, so we pray:

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours

now and for ever.

Amen.

We break this bread

to share in the body of Christ.

Though we are many, we are one body,

because we all share in one bread.

Jesus, Lamb of God,

have mercy on us.

Jesus, bearer of our sins,

have mercy on us.

Jesus, redeemer of the world,

grant us peace.

Draw near with faith.

Receive the body of our Lord Jesus Christ

which he gave for you,

and his blood which he shed for you.

Eat and drink

in remembrance that he died for you,

and feed on him in your hearts

by faith with thanksgiving.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ,

for all the benefits you have given me,

for all the pains and insults you have borne for me.

Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,

I ask you to come spiritually into my heart.

O most merciful redeemer, friend and brother,

may I know you more clearly,

love you more dearly,

and follow you more nearly, day by day. Amen

Almighty God,

we thank you for feeding us

with the body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ.

Through him we offer you our souls and bodies

to be a living sacrifice.

Send us out

in the power of your Spirit

to live and work

to your praise and glory.

Amen.

The Blessing:

The peace of God,

which passes all understanding,

keep your hearts and minds

in the knowledge and love of God,

and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord;

and the blessing of God almighty,

the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

be among you and remain with you always. Amen.
