Holy Communion Sunday 28th February Carrying Your Cross

We meet in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . Amen Song: Come now is the time to worship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPWq8eM4lu8&ab_channel=Mick   Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.   Our Confession: Let us admit to God the sin which always confronts us.   We confess to you our selfishness and lack of love: fill us with your Spirit. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.   We confess to you our fear and failure in sharing our faith: fill us with your Spirit. Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.   We confess to you our stubbornness and lack of trust: fill us with your Spirit. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.   May the God of all healing and forgiven

Children and Family Activities for Sunday 28th Feb Following Jesus

Today we’re thinking about what it means to follow Jesus. What would we need to do? Here’s a song to start us off!   Song: I have decided to follow Jesus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_L9h9UjIkMM&ab_channel=EasyWorshipResources   Jesus told his friends that he would be killed and come back to life again. Peter didn’t like the sound of that – he didn’t want things to be hard. Jesus explained that everyone who follows him will have to think of other people first. But when they do- God will look after them. That’s what Jesus means when he says “take up your cross”. He carried the cross for us- so we can do things for other people. God will take care of us.   Here’s a video of the story: Mark 8:31-38 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1DdKxN-k8U&ab_channel=CartoonBible   Play a game To help us remember about following when it’s hard- why not make an obstacle course round a room? You could pile up cushions or bedding or have to crawl under chairs or tables.
